Argolida (Daily tour)

 

Our excursion begins early in the morning (around 08:00) and includes a tour to the most important sights in the area.

Our first stop will be at the Corinthian Cana.

There you will have the chance to take a souvenir picture with the impressive view of the canal in the background.

Then, we will go to Mycenae where we will have the opportunity to admire the ancient city of Mycenae which Heinrich Schliemann discovered in 1870.

Some of the remarkable findings are the Lion Gates, the great Cyclopean Walls, the tomb of King Agamemnon and the marvelous wall paintings.

The exhibits at the archaeological museum in Mycenae are some of the most important ones and mesmerize the visitor, whereas in the Pop Art shops in the area, you will be able to buy faithful replicas of the museum exhibits and other souvenirs.

Afterwards, we will depart for the city of Nafplio , which was rebuilt by the Venetians in the 16 th century, and it was the first capital of the Greek state after the revolution in 1821.

There we will lunch by the sea with a view of the picturesque Bourtzi and then we will visit the fortress of Palamidi.



Our excursion will end with a visit to Epidaurus . We will visit the magnificent Ancient Theater which is famous world wide for its acoustics. The memorial was covered for centuries by a high embankment. Its systematic excavation began in 1881 by the archaeologist Pan. Kavvadia.

"The Epidavria", a festival of ancient Greek drama is held every summer at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus. "The Epidauvria" began in 1954 and has been established as an institution ever since. The ancient theater constitutes a special attraction for a great number of visitors.
